Dutch

In April of 2016 I drove to Weatherford, Texas to give this guy a freedom ride and offer him a place to grow and heal. Dutch was just over a year old and not a fan humans. It was obvious that he had been let down quite a few times in his short life and he would need time to overcome those bad experiences.

In October 2017 Dutch participated in the trainer challenge. He was too young to ride so he was entered in the “In-Hand” division and was amazing. All of the handling gave him a great experience for desensitizing. At this point Dutch had overcome so many fears and found a great deal of respect for humans and respect for himself.

In the Spring of 2018 Dutch began work under saddle and hasn’t missed a step yet. He is incredibly mature for his age and eager to please. He shows to have a great work ethic and very desensitized. Dutch is lovely to be around. He gets along with other horses in the herd, cows, domestic animals, you name it. Dutch is easy to catch, loads and trailers well and stands for grooming and tacking up.

Dutch is right at 14hh and 4 years old. He enjoys playing on the pole pattern and participating in obstacle courses. He would make a great family horse. Please contact us if you are interested in adopting Dutch.
